ONLINE AND DISTANCE EDUCATION

The Online Learning Experience

The boundaries of higher education have expanded well beyond the four walls of a conventional classroom. At Allen U, we leverage the power of online education to offer a comprehensive, interactive learning journey that doesn't compromise on quality. Whether you're a local student or residing miles away, you can now be part of our academic community, experiencing a curriculum that's both challenging and rewarding. Our online courses come in two different formats to fit various learning styles and schedules. The first is asynchronous learning, where course materials are prepared and made available on our Learning Management System. This allows you to engage with content such as readings, video lectures, and assignments on your own time. The second format is synchronous learning, conducted in real-time, where students and faculty interact in a virtual setting. This enables live discussions, Q&A sessions, and real-time feedback, closely mimicking the dynamic atmosphere of an in-person classroom.

No matter the course format you choose, expect an interactive experience. Faculty and students engage using various digital platforms, from discussion boards to virtual group sessions and lectures. These tools are designed not just to disseminate knowledge but also to foster a sense of community and collaborative learning, key elements that contribute to educational success. By enrolling in our online courses and programs, you're not just investing in your education; you're opting for a versatile learning environment that lets you juggle other responsibilities, be it work, family, or personal commitments. So why wait? Explore our array of online offerings at Allen U and take the next significant step in your academic and professional journey.

Course Formats

The structure of online courses at Allen University can differ substantially, offering a versatile educational environment tailored to the subject matter and instructional approach. Each course has its own unique layout, methods for material dissemination, and channels for faculty-student and student-student interactions. We employ a range of virtual platforms to facilitate our online courses, such as Zoom, Online Meetings (eLearning), Bongo (Cengage), and Microsoft Teams. These platforms serve as the digital backbone of our educational experience, offering different features to meet varying course needs. Whether it's a real-time virtual classroom on Zoom or an interactive discussion board on Microsoft Teams, these platforms enhance the educational experience, bringing the classroom to you no matter where you are. The virtual platforms we use also offer synchronous learning opportunities, allowing for live, real-time interactions. In these settings, you can actively participate in class discussions, listen to lectures, and engage in interactive activities just as you would in an in-person class. This creates a dynamic and interactive learning environment that enables immediate feedback and close engagement with faculty and fellow classmates. At Allen University, we are committed to providing a rich and flexible educational experience that meets the diverse needs and schedules of our students. Whether you're juggling a full-time job and family responsibilities or just prefer the flexibility that online learning offers, our courses are designed to provide you with the high-quality education you deserve. Explore the options available and find the online learning path that's right for you.
