Demetrice Terrell Named N.A.I.A-A.I.I. Player of the Year

Demetrice Terrell

Allen University’s Senior Guard, Demetrice Terrell, was named the 2010-2011 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (N.A.I.A.) – Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Men?s Basketball Division 1 Player of the Year.? Terrell is a senior, majoring in?social science,? from Atlanta, Georgia.? As a student-athlete, Terrell also received the 2009 Tom Joyner Hercules Scholarship Award and has been on the Dean’s List his entire college tenure.

?His athletic accomplishments at Allen include:

  • N.A.I.A.-A.I.I. All-Conference for 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-11
  • 2009-10 Daktronics-N.A.I.A. Division 1 Men?s Basketball Top 67 Scholar Athlete Award
  • 2009-10-N.A.I.A-A.I.I. Division 1 Men?s Basketball All Tournament Team
  • 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 Team Captain
  • Nominated by for the 2010-11 Daktronics-N.A.I.A. Division 1 Men?s Basketball Top 67 Scholar Athlete Award

?Terrell is also ranked in the N.A.I.A. Division 1 Men?s Basketball for 2010-2011 as follows:

  • Ranked #1 in 3 point field goals made per game (3.792)
  • Ranked #4 in total 3 point field goals made (91)
  • Ranked #22 in steals per game (2.08)
  • Ranked #26 in points per game (18.33)
  • Ranked #47 in total steals (50)

In addition to being named A.I.I. Player of the Year, Terrell will be nominated as a 2010-11 N.A.I.A. Division 1 Men?s Basketball All America Player at ?the N.A.I.A. national meeting in March 2011.
