Athletics
The athletics program at Allen University develops better citizens through sports. In addition to honing athletic skills, department faculty and coaches teach and encourage cooperation, sacrifice, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Allen University currently maintains intercollegiate teams for men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball.
Allen University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Association of Independent Institution (A.I.I.), an NAIA subsidiary.

Date: March 20, 2013, NAIA- 2012 – 13 Division I Men’s Basketball All-American’s Announced
Richard Johnson of our men’s basketball team has been selected as 2012-13 Division 1 Men’s Basketball All-American Honorable Mention. The selections are made by the NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Association All-American Committee and are comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. This is a major accomplishment for Richard and our men’s basketball program. Additionally; this marks the fourth consecutive year that we have had an athlete to receive this national honor.

Student-athlete Kamari Palmer, a sophomore, received the 2012-13 Red Cross/NAIA Collegiate Leadership Program scholarship in the amount of $2,000 recognizing her participation in the American Red Cross (ARC)/National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Youth Leadership Program and her dedication to the Red Cross mission of saving lives.
American Red Cross representatives, Ryan Corcoran, CEO of the South Carolina Blood Services Region and board chairman Reggie Belcher, gave her the check on February 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm.
