Dear Students:

Your arrival here at Allen University is met with excitement and great expectation.  The Allen University family has made room for you in our hearts and every other aspect of campus life.  Your coming is not by accident, but rather an intricate part of God’s plan to develop you and to fulfill His purpose in your lives.  I believe that each of your past experiences has prepared you to be successful here and beyond.

We have developed this student life handbook as a guide to enable us to live together in community.  Every culture, community and family must have standards we agree upon that allow each member to participate in a safe environment.  This book is only as effective as we are responsible for our actions, words and attitudes.  I encourage you to make every effort to maintain high standards for yourself both on and off campus.

Allen University is a Christian liberal arts with historical roots connected to the African Methodist Episcopal Church.  Faith has always been a major focus here.  We desire that each person in our family be given every opportunity to succeed and with faith as our framework.  All of us can practice integrity, respect and accountability.

We are glad you are here.  Campus life here at Allen University is designed with you in mind.  Please feel free to utilize programs and people who have been put in place to serve you.  Work hard, get to know your faculty, and enjoy the college experience.
